Hello Washington and the Greater Seattle Area!

Hello, I am Travis Noel-Palmer and I have just arrived in the beautiful state of Washington! I am a musician, teacher, and an artist. I teach guitar, piano, and music theory. If you are interested in more about music lessons, please see the “Lessons” tab. I am currently limiting my students due to my job search for community college positions in the greater Seattle area!

My Story

I grew up in Southern California, and have been playing music and performing since I was in middle school. Once I decided that I wanted a career in music, I went to Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, where I received wonderful instruction in both classical piano and jazz theory. I then went on to San Jose State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. I just finished a masters degree in Jazz Piano from the University of Nevada Reno in May of 2024!

Throughout my time in California I taught private lessons, either from my home or traveling to my student’s houses. While at school in San Jose I worked at the Los Gatos School of Music teaching guitar, piano, and music theory. This changed with the onset of the coronavirus, so I moved as many of my students online! This has allowed me to teach while on the move, where my wife and I relocated to Carson City, Nevada, and more recently to Everett, WA.

In Nevada, I played with the Gardnervillains, a four piece jazz quartet, co-started The Carson Street Ragtime Band, a seven piece traditional jazz band with my wife, started the Reno Ramblers, another seven piece traditional jazz band, was the musical director of the Reno Video Game Jazz Band, a twelve piece big band that features music from various video games, and many different university ensembles.
