Hello, I am Travis Noel-Palmer. I am a musician, teacher, and an artist. I teach guitar, piano, and music theory. If you are interested in more about music lessons, please see the “Lessons” tab.

My Story

I grew up in Southern California, and have been playing music and performing since I was in middle school. Once I decided that I wanted a career in music, I went to Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, where I received wonderful instruction in both classical piano and jazz theory. I then went on to San Jose State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. I am currently halfway through a masters degree in Jazz Piano from the University of Nevada Reno.

Throughout my time in California I taught private lessons, either from my home or traveling to my student’s houses. While at school in San Jose I worked at the Los Gatos School of Music teaching guitar, piano, and music theory. This changed with the onset of the coronavirus, so I moved as many of my students online! This has allowed me to teach while on the move, since my wife and I have recently relocated to Carson City, Nevada.

In Nevada, I played with the Gardnervillains, a four piece jazz quartet, co-started The Carson Street Ragtime Band, a seven piece traditional jazz band with my wife, and was the musical director of the Reno Video Game Jazz Band, a twelve piece “big band” that features music from various video games.

In June I will be leaving Nevada for Washington State! I look forward to the opportunity that awaits me there!

I hope to see you at one of my shows, or please come in for a lesson!
